About

Hi! Welcome to Lavender Avenue. I'm Jenn. I am a California girl, transplanted to Oregon, then Colorado and most recently, New Zealand. I love it here. It's so green and I can see the ocean from my house!

I'm married to a great guy who is smart, strong and the best dad ever. We have three children: 15, 9 and 7. My eldest is tall (as you can see). He is my tech support and is bravely navigating the New Zealand "college" system. My daughter is already a fashion diva. You will see her all over this blog. She is my model - super photogenic - and the inspiration for many of my projects. She loves reading and swimming. My youngest is the delight of our lives. He keeps us laughing with his dry sense of humor and he loves to play soccer.

I own an Etsy shop called Lavender Avenue. I named it after the street where we bought our first home. I make beautiful storybook nightgowns for little princesses and lounge pants for busy boys (and girls). The designs were inspired by my wish for simple, sweet cotton nightgowns for my daughter. I hope you'll stop by and take a look!

I am a Member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, a knitter, reader, cook, sewist, taxi service, gardener, and general Girl Friday. I am also an independent product consultant for doTerra. I think it is so important to be thoughtful about the products we use, especially on our children. Essential oils are one way we stay healthy and happy all year long.

I hope you will visit often, and find something you like. It's a combination of books, recipes, projects and more, just like my life. So many projects, so little time!

  1. Hello! I just came across the apron you made last year that had all of the pockets. It is adorable! I am looking for something exactly like that for Primary/Nursery. My only problem is that I don't sew at all. If I paid you, would you make me one or do you already have some to buy in your store? That would be awesome! My email is curtis@utwire.net and my name is Kathy. Thanks for letting me know! Your blog is amazing. In my next life, I hope to get a creative gene. lol!
